• Razzle Dazzle Rose is a deceptively simple song about steeling oneself to face the challenges of the world. It's catchy and it sticks in the mind. Singer Tracyanne Campbell says she tends to write when she's down but here the song is upbeat. It still has the soft twee aesthetic that's become synonymous with Camera Obscura but acknowledges the passing of time in a way that's absent from some of their other work. Usually the band present themselves as school girls at the mercy of the changing whims of the world but here they express an assured self-determinism worthy of womanhood.
