Details
  • The song is about attending a rain soaked music festival in Mexico City and how an event like that has so much possibility. You might never see the person who rushed passed you a moment ago but it's also possible that, amidst the drunkeness and merriment, you could spend the rest of your life with that same person. Such feelings can be overwhelming.

  • Have You In My Wilderness is a break up album told from both the male and female perspective. Although Julia had gone through a break up in real life the characters in the album are invented for the sake of the songs and aren't autobiographical.

  • "Somehow that song captures what I was trying to do on a larger level - this warm, golden group of love songs. That was what I had in mind, in the end I don't think it comes across." (Julia Holter speaking to The Fader about how her album was influenced by Scott Walker - Duchess (1969))
