Details
- Bayonet Records is owned by Beach Fossils frontman Dustin Payseur.
- The song was produced by Jonathan Rado of the indie band Foxygen.
- Earlier Beach Fossils records stuck to a drums, guitar, bass, vocals format but this album marks a change in direction incorporating strings, flute, sax and even a double bass.
- The band worked on their new sound for four years, their previous release coming in 2013.
- This album is the first featuring the bands new drummer. Previous sticksman, Tommy Gardner, left to become a Buddhist monk.
- "I have a studio in Brooklyn that I work out of, and we go there mainly
to work on songs and come up with ideas for them, and then we take them
elsewhere. Most of the record was actually recorded there, but then we
went upstate and recorded stuff there as well. The we went to L.A." (Dustin Payseur talking to moderndrummer.com)
