Details
- On 'Brackish', Kittie capture an emotional rawness that makes the song distinct. These girls didn't like their mates boyfriend
so they wrote a song and screamed about it. The feeling wasn't put on
for the cameras, it came from their real lives. It was guided by instinct
and enthusiasm instead of sophistication or experience and it has a
vitality to it missing in music made by older people.
Young people have the ability to throw themselves into something body and soul because of their near indefatigable passion and you can hear it in every second of 'Spit'. It's not the most technically proficient or well produced album but it is a memorable one. - "Brackish was a bit of an experiment that ended up being a happy
accident. I recall being influenced by Econoline Crush, wanting to add a
little bit of an industrial element to the song because it was so
driving. It was more of a studio happy accident than it being written
for that style. We had a DJ come in and play us some beats for a case
of beer." [Morgan Lander during an AMA on Reddit]
