  • On Ravenspoint, Weaver's delayed vocals hauntingly ring out over a quilt of sound that brings to mind a hippy commune lounging around on cushions with guitars and LSD. A man repeatedly says "we're on our way to dust" in a way that makes the song feel like a journey through the universe in all of its intricate complexity.

Simultaneously, strings interweave with each other in a tapestry of eastern influences. The vocals are a part of the song, but it's the way the constituent parts come together that provide 'Ravenspoint'  with it's ability to mesmerize. The sound transfixes the listener, giving them an idea of what it's like to float through a wave of sound similar to a potent drug trip or a meditation experience.

  • The late-60's were the glory days of psychedelic music. Five decades later, in the 2010's, the genre experienced a resurgence that saw it return to the mainstream, with acts like Tame Impala reaching #4 in the US Billboard charts.

The form gained credence, in no small part, due to the liberalisation of drug laws throughout the western world. In America, marijuana was made legal for recreational use in several states while in countries like Portugal they went as far as decriminalising all drugs.

With the proliferation of hash came haze. A guitar filled haze that competed with bong smoke for space in the dorm rooms of college kids far and wide. It wasn't long before a new age of psychedelia beckoned.
