Creation Records is an iconic British indie label that came to prominence in the 80's and 90's on the backs of shoegaze, acid house and britpop. They're pedigree reached such a height that the British Labour Party piggy-backed onto their "Cool Britannia" image to reach young voters in the 1997 general election.
They were formed in 1983 by Alan McGee using a bank loan of £1000 to push back against the manufactured synth pop that was riding high in the charts at the time. Sony purchased 50% of the label in 1992.
