- The song is about a series of unsolved murders which specifically
targeted female factory workers in Juarez, Mexico. At the Drive-In, who
are from the nearby El Paso, felt as if the murders weren't properly
investigated and wrote the song to draw attention to the issue.
Due to it's proximity to the Mexican-U.S. border Juarez is a city well known for drug smuggling. The famously tense border scene from the 2015 crime film Sicario is set at the El Paso-Juarez crossing
