- 'Didn't I' was initially released as the B-side to 'Listen to My Song'. For many decades it was only available on vinyl.
- On the original vinyl Darondo's name is spelled incorrectly as "Dorando".
- 'Didn't I' is a simple song about a man questioning why his lady wants to leave him. As far as Darondo is concerned there isn't any sense in it and not knowing the reason why she wants to leave torments him. The primal feelings are felt the deepest which is why they are the language of the soul and feature so prominently in soul and gospel music. On this song you can feel the emotion in every word. He wants to understand his woman but simply lacks the faculties as there is a gap between men and women that can never truly be bridged due to biological factors. The other sex will, in part, always be a mystery to us and this fact has inspired many soul songs and will go on to inspire many more.
- The song was popularised after appearing in season 1 of Breaking Bad.
