Details
  • Live performances of 'Nothing Ever Happened' often see the band improvise the end section for over 10 minutes. This is intersting as Bradford Cox has conversely stated "I'm more interested in the micro-structure. I want things to be a lot shorter, I don't want there to be as much long-windedness to it." while recording their album Microcastle. Perhaps, the band like truncated songs, except this one, because it's so damn good.

  • Has a strong krautrock influence, as can be heard on the relentless drums. 'Nothing Ever Happened' is hypnotic and retains the signature psychedelia Deerhunter are known for, combined with a sense of existential ennui evident in the title.
